Standard Bank Retains Title as Africa’s Most Valuable Banking Brand for 2025

Standard Bank, Africa’s largest bank by assets, has once again secured its position as Africa’s Most Valuable Banking Brand for the year 2025. This recognition comes shortly after the bank was also named South Africa’s Most Valuable Banking Brand in the South Africa Top 100 Brands report.

For the fourth consecutive year, Brand Finance’s annual ranking of the Global Top 500 Banking Brands has highlighted Standard Bank’s exceptional reputation and standing within the industry.

Brand Finance evaluates 5,000 of the world’s biggest brands annually and releases numerous reports ranking brands across various sectors. The Brand Finance Global 500 Banks ranking features the top 500 most valuable and strongest banking brands globally.

Sim Tshabalala, Standard Bank Group Chief Executive, expressed his delight at receiving these prestigious accolades once again. He attributed the recognition to the trust the bank has cultivated and its unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional service to clients.

As the largest financial services provider in Africa by assets, the Standard Bank Group operates in 20 African countries with a combined population of nearly 800 million people.

Margaret Nienaber, Standard Bank Group Chief Operating Officer, emphasized the bank’s dedication to driving Africa’s growth and creating value for all stakeholders. She highlighted the awards as a testament to the team’s relentless efforts in serving a diverse client base.
