South Africa Urges Dialogue to Resolve Post-Election Violence in Mozambique
After the Constitutional Council of Mozambique declared the final electoral results, South Africa has expressed concern over the violence and protests that have ensued. The country is calling for all parties involved to engage in urgent dialogue to bring about healing and pave the way for a new political and developmental path for Mozambique.
South Africa stands ready to support Mozambique in any way necessary to facilitate this crucial dialogue. The government will continue to collaborate with the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and other international organizations to find a lasting solution to the current challenges. It is essential for all parties to exercise restraint and maintain calm during this critical period.
