Santos President Urges Neymar to Return to His Roots
In a heartfelt plea, Santos president Marcelo Teixeira has called on Neymar to return to the club where his career began, Santos FC.
Teixeira expressed, “The time has come, Neymar. Return to your home, to our beloved club. The Santos nation awaits you with open arms.”
After mutually terminating his contract with Al Hilal, Neymar is now at a crossroads. Despite a lucrative deal, his time at the Saudi club was marred by injuries, limiting him to just seven appearances during his 18-month tenure.
Having started his professional career at Santos, Neymar scored an impressive 136 goals in 225 games before moving to Barcelona in 2013. He still holds the title of Brazil’s all-time leading goal scorer with 79 goals in 128 matches, surpassing the legendary Pele’s record.
