Samsung fans were in for a treat at the January 2025 Galaxy Unpacked event, where the tech giant unveiled not only the highly anticipated Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra but also teased a fourth model – the Galaxy S25 Edge. This marks a return to the Edge branding for Samsung, reminiscent of the Galaxy S7 Edge from 2016.
The exact release date of the Galaxy S25 Edge remains a mystery, as Samsung did not provide a specific launch date during the event. However, leaks and reports suggest a possible release in May 2025, with some sources speculating an April launch. Interestingly, it is rumored that the Edge model may not be available in the US and will be limited to select countries.
As for pricing, details are scarce, but industry insider Evan Blass hinted that the Galaxy S25 Edge could be priced between the S25 Plus and S25 Ultra models, ranging from £999/$999.99 to £1,249/$1,299.99.
In terms of specifications, initial glimpses of the Galaxy S25 Edge’s design showcase a remarkably slim profile, even thinner than the standard Galaxy S25. Reports suggest a thickness of just 6.4mm, making it one of the thinnest smartphones on the market. The Edge is expected to feature a 200Mp main camera, a 50Mp ultrawide lens, and a 12Mp selfie camera. Additionally, a 50Mp telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom is rumored to complete the quad-camera setup.
Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 Edge is likely to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset paired with 12GB of RAM. The display size is estimated to be between 6.7 and 6.8 inches, with a high refresh rate OLED panel. Concerns arise regarding the battery capacity in such a slim device, with speculations ranging from 3000-4000mAh.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to support fast charging speeds of up to 25W, as indicated by a listing on China’s 3C database. Other features such as 15W Qi wireless charging, One UI 7 software based on Android 15, and extended software support are anticipated to be in line with the other S25 models.
As more information becomes available, we will continue to update on the Galaxy S25 Edge. Stay tuned for the latest updates on Samsung’s flagship lineup.
