Sabalenka Battles Past Kenin to Reach Italian Open Round of 16

In a thrilling match at the Italian Open, Aryna Sabalenka fought back from a set down to defeat Sofia Kenin 3-6, 6-3, 6-3, securing her spot in the round of 16.

The world number one faced a tough challenge against former Australian Open champion Kenin but managed to come out on top. Sabalenka will now face Marta Kostyuk in the next round, who emerged victorious against Leylah Fernandez.

With three-time champion Iga Swiatek out of the competition after losing to Danielle Collins, Sabalenka has a prime opportunity to clinch her first title in Rome and her third 1000 series title of the season.

Having reached the finals of her last four tournaments and claiming victories in Miami and Madrid, Sabalenka is considered the favorite at the Foro Italico despite her initial struggles in the match against Kenin.

Despite struggling in the initial set and showing signs of frustration with her game, Sabalenka managed to turn the match in her favor. She displayed resilience and determination, breaking Kenin in crucial moments to secure the win.

With her eyes set on the title in Rome, Sabalenka will look to continue her impressive form and add another trophy to her collection.
