African Countries Ranked by Stability
In a recent study conducted in 2024 by SBM Intelligence, African countries were evaluated and ranked based on their stability. The analysis took into consideration various factors including ethnic tensions, coup history, food security, and economic diversity to determine the overall stability of each country.
According to the study, the top three most stable countries in Africa are Cape Verde, Lesotho, and Tanzania. These countries were found to have a strong level of stability based on the criteria assessed. Following closely behind are Mauritius, Liberia, South Africa, and Senegal, ranked fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh respectively.
Coming in at eighth place is Seychelles, known for its political stability and peaceful environment. Namibia and Botswana round out the top ten most stable countries in Africa, showcasing their resilience and ability to maintain stability in the region.
It is interesting to note that Southern Africa has emerged as the most stable region for the second consecutive year, highlighting the peaceful and secure environment present in this part of the continent. Conversely, Central Africa was identified as the most volatile region, facing challenges that impact its overall stability.
