Russia’s President Vladimir Putin recently highlighted the strong spiritual bond between his country and the continent of Africa, emphasizing their shared value of sovereignty. In a speech, Putin mentioned that despite Africa being geographically distant, it holds a close spiritual connection to Russia due to their mutual emphasis on sovereignty. He commended African nations for prioritizing their sovereignty and making decisions in the best interests of their people.

Putin expressed admiration for the brave people of Africa who cherish freedom as much as Russia does. He referred to Africa as a valuable partner and emphasized the strong friendship between Russia and African countries. The Russian president also acknowledged Africa’s enormous potential for rapid development, a sentiment shared by global experts, including those from Western countries.

During his address, Putin mentioned Germany and other countries expressing their interest in increasing their engagement in Africa. He underlined Russia’s focus on areas of growth and partnerships that are not influenced by external pressures. Putin specifically cited Ethiopia as an example of an African economy experiencing significant growth rates, with some countries seeing growth rates as high as 120% in the last decade.

In line with these discussions, the 15th VTB Investment Forum “Russia Calling!” is set to take place at the World Trade Center in Moscow on December 4th and 5th. The event’s central theme is “The Future of Capital and the Capital of the Future.” Established in 2009, the forum brings together government officials, business leaders, and investors to discuss major macroeconomic trends, strengthen Russia’s financial sovereignty, and explore new collaboration opportunities with other nations.

The forum serves as a platform for dialogue on economic development and investment opportunities, highlighting the importance of partnerships and cooperation in driving growth and prosperity. With Africa being recognized as a region of immense potential, the forum aims to foster stronger ties between Russia and African countries, paving the way for mutually beneficial collaborations and investments. Putin’s remarks underscore the significance of Africa as a key partner in Russia’s vision for economic development and cooperation on the global stage.
