The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) has announced the rescheduling of the inaugural PSGH Pharma Excellence Awards to April 11, 2025. The decision to postpone the event was made in light of the high volume of entries received, which needed to be thoroughly reviewed by the Pharma Excellence Awards Committee and the Panel of Reviewers.
Additionally, there is a requirement for the various practice groups to vote on the practice groups’ pharmacist of the year, whose input will contribute to the selection process for the overall winner. This meticulous approach ensures that the awards truly recognize and celebrate the exceptional achievements of both corporate entities and individuals within the pharmaceutical industry and the healthcare sector.
The primary aim of the Pharma Excellence Awards is to acknowledge and honor responsible professional, business, and entrepreneurial practices that elevate the standards of clinical practice, healthcare provision, and access to medical treatments or services. By identifying and commending the talented organizations and individuals driving progress in the field, the awards create an environment where success is valued and celebrated.
The maiden edition of the Pharma Excellence Awards will bring together industry leaders, quality professionals, and stakeholders to celebrate excellence across various categories. These include professional practice, manufacturing, research and development, distribution and marketing, quality control, quality assurance, regulatory affairs and compliance, corporate social responsibility, entrepreneurship, pharmaceutical care delivery, and overall leadership.
Through these awards, outstanding individuals and teams will receive well-deserved recognition for their crucial role in ensuring the delivery of quality-assured products and patient-centered pharmaceutical care services. Ultimately, this recognition will contribute to advancing public health on national, regional, and global levels.
A total of 26 awards will be presented to deserving firms and individuals during the event. Categories include OTC Brand of the Year, Pharmacy Only/POM Brand of the Year, Most Outstanding Export-oriented Pharma Manufacturer of the Year, and Pharma Multinational Company of the Year.
