Renowned Ghanaian director Peter Sedufia is gearing up to spread some holiday cheer with his upcoming film, “One Night Guests.” This highly anticipated comedy is set to premiere nationwide in Ghana and Nigeria on Christmas Day, 25th December 2024, promising to be a festive treat for audiences on both sides of the border.

The excitement surrounding the film is palpable, thanks to its star-studded cast, cross-cultural storytelling, and Sedufia’s reputation for delivering memorable cinematic experiences. Co-produced by Sedufia and Nigerian film mogul Chris Odeh, “One Night Guests” aims to showcase the best of Ghanaian and Nigerian cinema, solidifying its place as a must-watch release of the season.

The plot of the film revolves around Olumide, a wealthy father with a heartwarming tradition of hiring Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and an elf to bring joy to his daughter’s Christmas. However, this year, the tradition takes a chaotic turn when two separate trios show up at Olumide’s doorstep, each claiming to be the official holiday characters. What ensues is a hilarious and heartfelt exploration of identity, privilege, and the true meaning of family. Through laughter and suspense, Olumide embarks on a transformative journey, discovering the power of empathy and the joy of unexpected connections.

Peter Sedufia expressed his enthusiasm for the film’s unique blend of Ghanaian and Nigerian storytelling, noting that Lagos provided the perfect backdrop for the story. The film features an impressive cast of top talents from both countries, including Chidi Mokeme, Ini Edo, Yvonne Okoro, Majid Michel, Roselyn Ngissah, James Gardiner, Lasisi Elenu, Warri Pikin, and Akah Nnani. Their collective on-screen charisma and depth are sure to captivate audiences while delivering the film’s heartfelt message.

The film is scheduled to premiere simultaneously in cinemas across Ghana and Nigeria on Christmas Day, offering a shared cinematic experience that unites cultures and audiences.

Peter Sedufia, known for his acclaimed works like “Keteke,” “Aloevera,” and “Sidechic Gang,” continues to push the boundaries of West African storytelling. With “One Night Guests,” he adds another gem to his portfolio, celebrating the spirit of togetherness in a heartwarming holiday tale.
