Repeat Offender Pablo Sosa Back in Custody for Attempted Murder
After serving a 6-year sentence for attempted murder, Pablo Sosa finds himself back in custody for another violent incident. Prosecutors allege that Sosa stabbed a 53-year-old man during a road rage incident in Des Plaines late last year.
The initial incident occurred in June 2017 at North Avenue Beach, where Sosa stabbed a man nine times during an argument. Despite attempts to flee, Sosa was apprehended with the help of bystanders and police. He was subsequently sentenced to 6 years in 2020 and was paroled in July 2022.
According to reports, the recent altercation in Des Plaines involved Sosa riding his bike alongside the victim’s vehicle on Miner Street. An argument escalated into a physical confrontation, resulting in Sosa punching and stabbing the victim through the open driver-side window. Investigators were able to identify Sosa through video footage, witness statements, and evidence found at the scene. He now faces charges of attempted murder once again.
This pattern of violence raises concerns about Sosa’s behavior and the need for stricter oversight upon release from incarceration. It serves as a reminder of the importance of rehabilitation and monitoring of individuals with a history of violent offenses.
