Deputy Attorney General, Dr. Justice Srem Sai, has come out to defend the progress of the high-profile anti-corruption campaign under the ORAL initiative. In a recent interview on JoyNews’ PM Express, Dr. Srem Sai addressed public concerns about the perceived slow response to corruption allegations involving top political figures.

Dr. Srem Sai refuted claims that the government’s actions were slow, stating that the public only becomes aware of progress when arrests are made or cases are brought to court. He emphasized that the investigative agencies, including the Police, NIB, EOCO, and Special Prosecutor, are working tirelessly behind the scenes to gather evidence, secure warrants, and build strong cases.

The Deputy Attorney General acknowledged the public’s demand for action and reassured that work is ongoing, even though not all details can be made public due to the nature of legal processes. He highlighted the need for confidentiality in certain aspects of the investigation to protect evidence and prevent suspects from fleeing.

Dr. Srem Sai stressed that the anti-corruption campaign is not dormant or dragging but is actively and lawfully progressing. He hinted at a pipeline of prosecutions being built by the government, although specific details were not disclosed during the interview.

In response to growing public frustration, especially online, Dr. Srem Sai urged patience and trust in the process. He emphasized that while not everything can be made public, significant work is being done behind the scenes to combat corruption effectively.

The Deputy Attorney General’s message was clear: progress is being made in the fight against corruption, and updates will be shared when appropriate. He reassured the public that the government is committed to addressing corruption and ensuring accountability among top political figures.
