Chaos at Swedru Municipal Hospital after Okada Rider Dies in Tragic Accident

Tragedy struck at the Swedru Municipal Hospital when an Okada rider lost his life in a motorcycle accident at Agona Nyansakyere in the Agona East District. The incident, which occurred under poor visibility conditions due to a power outage, involved two speeding riders traveling in opposite directions.

Unfortunately, the rider, who was carrying a passenger from Agona K.T.K to Agona Kwanyarko, succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at the hospital. The other rider and passenger sustained critical injuries in the collision.

News of their colleague’s death sparked outrage among a group of Okada riders, who vented their frustration by storming the hospital. In a fit of anger, they attacked medical staff and caused extensive damage to hospital equipment.

Assemblyman for Agona Asafo Electoral Area, Ishmael Odoom, condemned the violent attack, deeming it unacceptable. He called on law enforcement authorities to take swift action against those responsible for the chaos at the hospital.

Mr. Odoom also urged Okada riders to prioritize road safety and exercise caution while on the road. He emphasized that the tragic accident could have been avoided if the riders had been more vigilant.

Authorities are set to launch an investigation into the incident and ensure that those involved in the hospital attack are held accountable for their actions. It is crucial to maintain peace and order in such situations and prevent further acts of violence.
