The Mrs Curve SA pageant is a platform that celebrates the beauty, strength, and confidence of fuller-figured women. One of the semi-finalists, Sihle Sibisi, a gender-based violence activist, decided to participate in the pageant this year in honor of her late daughter who was a passionate pageant contestant. Tragically, her daughter passed away in 2024 due to a ruptured brain aneurysm, a condition that can lead to serious complications such as stroke or brain damage.
Sibisi’s journey in the Mrs Curve SA pageant has been emotional and empowering. Despite never having walked the ramp before, she feels that being part of the pageant is already a win for her. The pageant not only promotes body positivity and self-confidence but also serves as a platform for Sibisi to amplify her work in addressing gender-based violence and raising awareness about brain aneurysms.
Mrs Curve South Africa holds the official license for the Mrs Curve Globe pageant, and the winner of Mrs Curve SA will represent the country on the international stage in the USA in June. Sibisi, known for her work as a TV host on Moja Love’s shows “Fake Marriage” and “Fake Pastors”, has also been romantically linked to the Zulu King, Misuzulu Zulu. However, she refrains from commenting on her relationship with the king.
Recently, the Zulu king made headlines for reportedly paying lobola for a fourth wife, Princess Sihle Mdluli, shortly after canceling his wedding with his third wife, Queen Nomzamo Myeni. Despite the royal ties, Sibisi remains focused on her journey in the Mrs Curve SA pageant and using her platform to advocate for important causes.
The Mrs Curve SA pageant not only celebrates the beauty of fuller-figured women but also serves as a platform for empowerment and raising awareness about important issues. Sibisi’s participation in the pageant is not only a tribute to her late daughter but also a testament to her strength and resilience in the face of adversity.
