Meghan Markle’s recent revelation of her DIY bath salts recipe in her Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” has sparked concerns among experts regarding the imprecise use of essential oils. While the recipe is intended to promote relaxation and well-being, experts warn against trying it at home due to the lack of specific measurements provided by Markle.

In the first episode of her series, Markle prepares a guest basket for her friend and makeup artist, Daniel Martin, which includes a jar of homemade bath salts made from Epsom salt, Himalayan salt, Arnica oil, and Lavender oil. However, Markle does not provide exact measurements for these ingredients and ends up adding more Epsom salt without precision when the mixture doesn’t fill the jar as intended.

Skincare expert Dr. Ed Robinson, speaking to Royal Insider, expressed concerns about the risks associated with following Markle’s DIY bath salts recipe. Robinson, a cosmetic aesthetics doctor with seven years of medical experience, highlighted the dangers of using essential oils like arnica and lavender without proper dilution. Essential oils are highly concentrated and can cause skin irritation, rashes, or chemical burns if not diluted correctly.

Esthetician Jennifer Christopherson also voiced her concerns about Markle’s bath salt recipe, emphasizing the importance of proper dilution when working with essential oils. In her video critique, Christopherson warned about the potential risks of irritation, rashes, or burns that could result from improper use of essential oils. She advised viewers to exercise caution and not replicate Markle’s approach without the necessary knowledge.

It is essential to understand the potential risks associated with using essential oils in DIY skincare recipes and to seek guidance from professionals before trying them at home. While Markle’s bath salts recipe may seem appealing, it is crucial to prioritize safety and precision when working with such potent ingredients.
