McAfee’s new Scam Detector is designed to combat these evolving scams and protect consumers from falling victim to fraud. By leveraging advanced AI technology, McAfee is able to proactively analyze and flag risky messages in real time, helping users distinguish between legitimate communications and potential scams.

With the rise of deepfake technology, scammers are able to create incredibly convincing fake videos that can deceive even the most discerning individuals. McAfee’s AI-powered Scam Detector is equipped to detect and prevent these types of scams, providing users with the tools and knowledge they need to stay safe online.

Steve Grobman, CTO of McAfee, emphasized the importance of real-time scanning to catch scammers at the right moment. By identifying and stopping scams before they can do any harm, McAfee is empowering consumers to take control of their online security and protect themselves from fraudulent schemes.

One of the key features of McAfee’s Scam Detector is its ability to differentiate between genuine and fake messages with ease. Whether it’s a suspicious email about a failed delivery or a text offering a too-good-to-be-true investment opportunity, McAfee’s technology can quickly identify and flag potential scams, saving users from falling prey to fraudsters.

As scams become more sophisticated and prevalent in today’s digital landscape, it’s crucial for individuals to arm themselves with the right tools and knowledge to stay safe online. McAfee’s Scam Detector is a valuable resource for consumers looking to protect themselves from the growing threat of scams and fraud.

With the launch of McAfee’s Scam Detector at CES 2025, consumers can rest assured that they have a powerful ally in the fight against scams. By harnessing the power of AI technology, McAfee is leading the charge in safeguarding individuals from the dangers of online fraud and deception. Stay informed, stay vigilant, and stay safe with McAfee’s Scam Detector.

As cyber threats continue to evolve and become more sophisticated, it has become increasingly important to stay vigilant and protect oneself from potential scams. McAfee, a leading cybersecurity company, has recognized this need and has developed the McAfee Scam Detector to help users stay safe online.

Raj Samani, Chief Scientist and McAfee Fellow, emphasized the importance of staying informed and alert when it comes to online scams. He stated, “That’s why we created McAfee Scam Detector. It warns you about scams before they can cause harm, helps you stay in control of your personal information, and helps you build the skills needed to outsmart scammers for good.”

During the recent holiday season, McAfee observed a surge in holiday scams targeting shoppers with enticing deals that are simply too good to be true. Christiaan Beek, Lead Scientist and Senior Principal Engineer at McAfee, explained that cyber criminals are constantly looking for ways to extort money from their victims, and the use of generative AI technology has made them even more effective and efficient in their malicious activities.

McAfee’s Scam Detector is powered by Smart AI, the same technology that underpins their award-winning online protection services. This all-in-one protection tool scans emails, text messages, and videos for suspicious content and flags potential scams before they can do any harm. The Email Scam Detector scans your inbox for risky emails and provides explanations on why they are dangerous. The Text Scam Detector alerts you to suspect text messages and offers clear explanations on why they pose a threat. Additionally, the Deepfake Detector identifies AI-generated videos that may deceive viewers and ensures that users are not fooled by fake content.

One of the key features of McAfee’s Scam Detector is its simplicity and ease of use. The tool is free for McAfee customers and will soon be included in all McAfee+, McAfee Total Protection, and McAfee LiveSafe plans at no extra cost. Once set up, the Scam Detector works instantly to protect users from online scams on all their devices, whether it be a phone, laptop, tablet, or Chromebook.
