Kylian Mbappe Shines as Real Madrid Dominate Las Palmas to Claim Top Spot in La Liga

In a thrilling match at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday, Kylian Mbappe put on a masterclass performance, scoring twice to lead Real Madrid to a convincing 4-1 victory over Las Palmas. This win propelled the reigning champions to the top of La Liga, taking advantage of slip-ups from their rivals.

Real Madrid capitalized on a perfect weekend as Atletico Madrid suffered a surprising loss to Leganes, and Barcelona were held to a draw at Getafe. These results left Madrid two points clear at the summit of the table.

Kylian Mbappe, who has been in excellent form recently after a slow start following his transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, showcased his skills by reaching 12 league goals with his brace, making him the second-highest scorer in La Liga behind Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski.

Las Palmas took an early lead with a goal within the first 30 seconds, but Madrid quickly turned the tide in their favor. Mbappe equalized from the penalty spot after a foul on Rodrygo, and then played a crucial role in assisting Brahim Diaz’s goal, which came from a rebound off Mbappe’s shot.

The French star added another goal with a stunning finish into the top corner, assisted by Rodrygo. Although he thought he had completed a hat-trick before halftime, a goal was disallowed for offside.

Real Madrid’s fourth goal came through Rodrygo, who capitalized on a clever pass from Mbappe to convert Fran Garcia’s low cross into the net.

Despite their dominance, Madrid had two more goals disallowed for offside, one from Jude Bellingham and another from Fede Valverde. The match also marked the return of David Alaba after a long absence due to a severe knee injury.

With 18 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions this season, Kylian Mbappe continues to prove his worth as a crucial asset for Real Madrid as they strive for another league title.
