Manchester City secured a convincing 4-1 victory against West Ham, with Erling Haaland scoring twice after Vladimir Coufal’s early own goal had given City the lead. The win marked a turning point for Pep Guardiola’s side, who had struggled with poor results in recent weeks.

Guardiola described the win as a “release” for his players, acknowledging that City are still not performing at their best. Despite the much-needed victory, the English champions are still a shadow of their former selves, according to the manager.

The match saw Phil Foden adding a fourth goal for City, while Niclas Fuellkrug scored a consolation goal for West Ham. Guardiola emphasized that the result was important for boosting morale, but the team still has room for improvement.

Savinho was instrumental in City’s victory, with the Brazilian winger providing the assist for Haaland’s goals. Guardiola praised Savinho’s work ethic and contribution to the team’s performance, highlighting his role in creating scoring opportunities.

While Guardiola acknowledged that City have struggled in recent matches, he pointed out that the team’s recent victories have been a step in the right direction. Despite the challenges faced by the team, Guardiola remains optimistic about their progress and is focused on building momentum for future matches.

Overall, the win against West Ham was a positive outcome for City, signaling a potential resurgence for the team. Guardiola and his players are determined to continue improving and regaining their form as they strive for success in the Premier League.
