The South African entertainment industry bid a final farewell to the legendary actor, Don Mlangeni-Nawa, during a poignant funeral service held at the Germiston Civic Centre on Saturday. Mlangeni-Nawa, affectionately known as “Bra Don,” passed away at the age of 65 after a long battle with prostate cancer.

During the service, Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi announced the establishment of the Don Mlangeni-Nawa Mentorship Programme in honor of the late actor’s commitment to nurturing young talent. The initiative aims to continue Mlangeni-Nawa’s legacy of guiding and supporting emerging artists in the entertainment industry.

Regina Mlangeni-Nawa, the actor’s widow, shared the struggles her husband faced with his health and expressed gratitude for the support they received from government officials, politicians, artists, and the public during his illness. Despite her grief, she emphasized the importance of finding closure and focusing on fulfilling her husband’s legacy.

Fikile Mbalula, Secretary General of the ANC, paid tribute to Mlangeni-Nawa as more than just an actor but a keeper of the nation’s soul. He praised the late actor’s artistry and impact, highlighting his ability to reflect both the scars and beauty of South Africa through his performances.

Lesufi also reflected on his personal connection with Mlangeni-Nawa, revealing a conversation they had shortly before the actor’s passing. He emphasized Mlangeni-Nawa’s political activism and his dedication to supporting those in need.

Colleagues and industry peers remembered Mlangeni-Nawa as a mentor and a respected figure in the entertainment industry. Sello Maake KaNcube and Keketso Semoko praised his talent and impact on the industry, with Semoko describing him as someone adored by everyone.

Mlangeni-Nawa’s celebrated career spanned four decades, with iconic roles in productions like “Isidingo,” “The Throne,” and “Shaka iLembe.” His versatility and talent earned him numerous awards and accolades, solidifying his place as one of South Africa’s most respected performers.

As the curtain falls on the life of this South African screen legend, his legacy lives on through his artistic contributions and the mentorship program established in his name. The Don Mlangeni-Nawa Mentorship Programme will continue to nurture talent and support emerging artists, ensuring that his impact on the industry endures for generations to come. The Benefits of Regular Exercise

Regular exercise is crucial for maintaining good physical and mental health. It offers a myriad of benefits that can improve overall well-being and quality of life. From reducing the risk of chronic diseases to boosting mood and energy levels, the advantages of incorporating exercise into your daily routine cannot be overstated.

One of the most significant benefits of regular exercise is its ability to improve cardiovascular health. Engaging in activities like running, swimming, or cycling helps to strengthen the heart and improve circulation. This, in turn, can reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, and high blood pressure. Regular exercise also helps to lower cholesterol levels and maintain a healthy weight, further reducing the risk of developing cardiovascular issues.

Exercise is also essential for maintaining a healthy weight and preventing obesity. By burning calories and building muscle, regular physical activity can help to regulate body weight and promote fat loss. This can not only improve physical appearance but also reduce the risk of obesity-related health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and certain types of cancer.

In addition to its physical benefits, exercise has a profound impact on mental health. Regular physical activity has been shown to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, improve mood, and enhance cognitive function. Exercise releases endorphins, also known as “feel-good” hormones, which can help to alleviate stress and boost overall happiness levels. It can also improve sleep quality, increase energy levels, and enhance overall mental clarity.

Furthermore, regular exercise can help to improve overall quality of life by increasing stamina, strength, and flexibility. Engaging in activities that challenge the body can lead to improved physical performance and a greater sense of accomplishment. This, in turn, can boost self-esteem and confidence, leading to a more positive outlook on life.

In conclusion, the benefits of regular exercise are undeniable. From improving cardiovascular health to enhancing mental well-being, the positive effects of physical activity on the body and mind are vast. Incorporating regular exercise into your daily routine can lead to a healthier, happier, and more fulfilling life. So lace up those sneakers, hit the gym, or take a brisk walk – your body and mind will thank you for it.
