Payment providers and mobile money companies are facing a new challenge as compliance checks for updated standards begin on October 20. This leaves operators with just two months to ensure that all terminals in their networks meet the new requirements.
This latest development is part of a series of reforms in the Nigerian payment industry. Last year, POS operators had to register their devices with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) mandated that all transactions must run through licensed aggregators.
