The 911 call that led to the arrest of former Chiefs and Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney has revealed disturbing details of the incident. The woman who placed the call stated that she was strangled by Toney while she was seven months pregnant during an altercation in Douglasville, Georgia.
In the audio obtained by TMZ, the woman, who remains unidentified, described how Toney had put his hands on her while she was holding her daughter. She explained that she had to run to a neighbor’s house to make the emergency call. The woman also mentioned that she and Toney were living together at the time of the incident.
According to arrest records, Toney allegedly strangled the victim with enough force to cause her to have difficulty breathing. The situation escalated when Toney attempted to prevent the woman from calling 911 by taking her phone. Warrants were issued on January 15th, and Toney was arrested on February 6th. He is currently facing charges of aggravated assault for strangulation and obstructing/harassing 911 calls. Toney was released on $50,000 bail following his arrest.
In response to the incident, Toney posted a since-deleted message on Instagram, suggesting that people say and believe negative things about him. Toney, originally from Mobile, Alabama, was the No. 20 overall pick by the Giants in the 2021 NFL Draft. After a brief stint with the Chiefs, he was picked up by the Browns but was waived in December after playing in just three games.
