A man seeking a Jason Kelce autograph on Thursday night went ballistic on the former NFL star, calling him a “p***y” and screaming obscenities, but Travis Kelce‘s big brother admirably deescalated the situation. The tense moments were captured on video by TMZ Sports.
The incident occurred in Hollywood as Jason was leaving an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Several autograph seekers had gathered outside the studio hoping to get Kelce’s autograph as he departed. When Kelce bypassed them and headed for his car, one of the seekers snapped and began yelling at him.
The man accused Kelce of big-timing them and hurled insults repeatedly. He challenged Kelce to a fight and continued to berate him even as Kelce tried to explain his actions. Despite the relentless shouting, Kelce remained composed and attempted to diffuse the situation.
Eventually, Kelce managed to calm the man down by promising to sign autographs for everyone. As Kelce signed their items, the man’s attitude changed, and he apologized for his behavior. Kelce then shook the man’s hand before walking away.
This incident stands in stark contrast to a previous altercation on Nov. 2 when Kelce was heckled outside a Penn State vs. Ohio State game. In that incident, Kelce smashed an agitator’s phone after the man used an anti-gay slur towards Travis Kelce. Kelce later expressed remorse for his actions and vowed to make better decisions in the future.
From the recent encounter, it appears that Kelce has indeed learned from past incidents and handled the situation with poise and understanding.
