Honor has just unveiled an exciting new software update commitment for its upcoming Honor 400 smartphone series, and it’s definitely a game-changer. The Honor 400 and 400 Pro are set to be officially launched tomorrow, 22 May, but the company is already generating buzz with its latest software announcement.

Extended Update Promise for Honor 400

According to Honor, the Honor 400 and 400 Pro will receive a whopping six years of Android support, guaranteeing users access to OS versions and security updates until at least 2031. This impressive commitment not only sets a new standard for Honor but also puts the brand in league with tech giants like Google and Samsung. The only ones surpassing Honor in this aspect are Google and Samsung, with just a year ahead.

One of the most notable aspects of this update promise is Honor’s pledge to deliver Android 16 to the Honor 400 series, the Honor Magic 7 Pro, and the Honor Magic V3 by the end of the year. Such a specific and firm commitment to a timeline is rare in the tech industry, and it certainly speaks volumes about Honor’s dedication to its customers.

Honor’s Big Software Push

It’s clear that Honor is making a significant effort to enhance its software offerings. Earlier this month, the company announced that developers could access Android 16 Beta 3 through the Honor Magic 7 Pro, making it one of the first to provide access to Google’s upcoming OS update.

Prior to this, the Honor Magic 6 Pro and the Honor Magic V2 were among the first devices to receive access to Android 15 Beta 1 in 2024. The Honor 400 series is also making waves as the first smartphones to utilize Google’s Veo 2 video generation model for its Image to Video feature. This innovative technology allows users to transform still images into dynamic five-second videos using the power of AI.

Overall, Honor’s commitment to long-term software support and innovation is truly commendable. With the promise of extended updates and cutting-edge features, the Honor 400 series is shaping up to be a game-changer in the smartphone market. Keep an eye out for the official launch tomorrow to see these impressive devices in action.
