Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recently held a meeting with the country’s leading infant formula makers to discuss various aspects of the industry. The meeting, which took place on Tuesday, included discussions on product ingredients, European competition, and the overall state of the infant formula market.

Executives from Abbott, Reckitt Benckiser, Bobbie, and Perrigo were in attendance at the meeting. The purpose of the gathering was to address concerns and explore opportunities for improvement within the industry. The meeting was first reported by Bloomberg and a picture from the health department’s X account showcased the participants.

One interesting aspect of the meeting was the inclusion of Bobbie, a brand described as an “insurgent brand” by its CEO Laura Modi. Modi expressed pride in being part of the conversation and highlighted the importance of having a fresh perspective, especially one that represents a mother’s point of view.

While specific details of the discussions were not disclosed, it is clear that Secretary Kennedy Jr. is actively engaging with industry leaders to drive positive change and innovation in the infant formula sector. The inclusion of a diverse range of companies in the meeting suggests a collaborative approach to addressing challenges and seizing opportunities in the market.

Overall, the meeting serves as a testament to the importance of open dialogue and collaboration in improving the quality and safety of infant formula products. By bringing together key players in the industry, Secretary Kennedy Jr. aims to foster a culture of transparency and accountability that ultimately benefits consumers and promotes the well-being of infants across the country.
