Pick n Pay introduces a budget-friendly burger deal

Starting on Friday, 4 April 2025, customers can purchase five key ingredients to make four delicious cheeseburgers for just R50 at Pick n Pay. The deal is designed to provide a budget-friendly option for those looking to enjoy a tasty meal without breaking the bank.

What’s included in the burger deal?

For R50, customers will receive four patties, four burger buns, a lettuce mix, two slicing tomatoes, and processed cheese slices. These ingredients are carefully selected to ensure that customers have everything they need to create four mouth-watering cheeseburgers at home.

Comparing prices

The total cost of these ingredients at Pick n Pay would normally be R152.95, making the R50 deal a significant saving. In comparison, the same ingredients at rival retailer Checkers would cost R245.94. While some items may be packaged differently at each store, the Pick n Pay deal offers excellent value for money.

Other food deals to consider

In addition to the Pick n Pay burger deal, other retailers have also introduced budget-friendly meal options for customers. Woolworths, for example, offers a dinner and dessert package for under R150, featuring a variety of protein and side dish options to feed four people.

Expansion of the food basket

Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana recently announced the expansion of the food basket, with the addition of new items that will be exempt from VAT. From 1 May 2025, the list will include edible offal of various animals, specific cuts such as heads and feet, dairy liquid blend, and tinned vegetables.

These initiatives aim to provide relief to consumers facing financial strain and make it easier for them to access essential food items at affordable prices.
