Hawaii teen faces sentence for stealing, killing pet pig

A shocking incident occurred in Hawaii where a teenager and his friend stole a woman’s pet pig named Eddie and brutally slaughtered it in an attempt to cheat their way into winning a $1,000 hunting contest prize. Jayden Jarnesky-Magana, 19, and his accomplice Krys Ryan Saito-Carino, 20, committed this heinous act last May on Maui.

The duo not only stole Eddie from Sarah Haynes’ farm but also filmed the dogs attacking the innocent pig in a staged hunting video that they shared on social media. They then proceeded to kill and gut Eddie before entering him into a local “biggest pig” hunting contest. However, their plan was foiled as the hunters at the contest became suspicious upon noticing that the pig had been neutered and was much heavier than the typical wild pigs entered into the competition.

Despite their suspicions, Jarnesky-Magana and Saito-Carino managed to walk away with the $1,000 prize money for the biggest pig hunted. They were later arrested and charged with animal cruelty after a police investigation. Jarnesky-Magana pleaded no contest to felony counts of first-degree animal cruelty and livestock theft, while Saito-Carino is expected to do the same.

Sarah Haynes, the devastated owner of Eddie, has organized a rally outside the Wailuku courthouse to raise awareness about animal cruelty. She described Eddie as a friendly and gentle soul who had been rescued by her after being abused by his previous owners for training hunting dogs.

Haynes expressed her desire for the perpetrators to face punishment for their cruel actions. She emphasized that the incident was not an innocent mistake but a planned attack on her beloved pet. Although she does not wish to ruin their lives, she believes that they should be held accountable for their actions.

The community has rallied around Haynes and Eddie, showing support for justice to be served in this case of senseless animal cruelty. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting and protecting all animals, and the need for stricter laws to prevent such acts of violence against innocent creatures.
