Neymar Sidelined for Four to Six Weeks with Hamstring Tear
Al Hilal confirmed on Wednesday that Neymar will be out of action for four to six weeks after sustaining a hamstring tear during a match against Esteghlal in the AFC Champions League Elite. The 32-year-old Brazilian forward played only 26 minutes as a substitute before leaving the field with a noticeable right hamstring injury.
After joining Al Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain in 2023, Neymar had recently returned to action following over a year out due to right knee surgery. His comeback was short-lived as the latest injury setback will see him sidelined once again.
Jorge Jesus, the coach of Al Hilal, had initially stated that Neymar would be unavailable for at least two weeks of training due to the injury. The club later announced on social media that the treatment and rehabilitation process for Neymar’s hamstring tear will take between four to six weeks.
Despite not being registered for the Saudi Pro League this season, Neymar is expected to feature in the AFC Champions League Elite, Asia’s premier club competition. As the reigning Saudi champions, Al Hilal will be looking to support Neymar in his recovery and eventual return to the pitch.
