Singer and broadcaster Dumza Maswana expressed his deep sadness at the passing of singer Suthukazi Arosi, whom he considered to be like a mother to him. Arosi, affectionately known as ‘Suthu’, passed away at the age of 64 after battling cancer. Maswana shared how Arosi had become a mentor and mother figure to him, supporting him and believing in his talent. Their collaboration on the song “Sombawo” for Maswana’s debut album “Molo” became a significant success.

Arosi, a multi-talented artist from Cala, Transkei, was known for her contributions to music, dance, acting, and cultural activism. She was honored by then Minister of Arts and Culture Lulu Xingwana in 2009 for her significant impact on the arts and culture scene. Arosi’s music was described as engaging and thought-provoking, reflecting a blend of sounds that celebrated heritage and inspired generations.

Maswana fondly recalled his first meeting with Arosi in 2014 during a tribute performance for the late Victor Ntoni. He described her as down-to-earth and motherly, leading to a close bond between them. Arosi’s support and encouragement were instrumental in Maswana’s musical journey, culminating in their collaboration on “Sombawo,” a song that held special meaning for both of them.

Despite her battle with cancer, Arosi remained resilient and hopeful, seeking financial assistance for her medical treatment and education. She had been accepted to the Berklee College of Music in the US but faced challenges in raising the necessary funds. Arosi’s determination and passion for her craft were evident, as she reached out to the arts community and the public for support.

Maswana highlighted the importance of celebrating artists like Arosi during their lifetime, rather than only recognizing their talents after they have passed. He emphasized Arosi’s self-awareness and confidence in her artistry, noting that her music will continue to inspire and resonate with audiences.

The music industry mourns the loss of Suthukazi Arosi, a talented artist and cultural icon whose legacy will endure through her music and contributions to the arts. Maswana’s heartfelt tribute to his ‘mother’ reflects the profound impact Arosi had on those who knew and loved her. The world of technology is constantly changing and evolving, with new advancements and innovations being made every day. One area that has seen significant growth in recent years is artificial intelligence (AI). AI is the development of computer systems that are able to perform tasks that typically require human intelligence, such as speech recognition, decision-making, and problem-solving.

One of the most exciting developments in AI technology is the creation of virtual assistants, such as Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant. These virtual assistants are designed to help users with a variety of tasks, from setting reminders and alarms to answering questions and providing recommendations. They are able to understand natural language commands and can carry out tasks quickly and efficiently.

Another area where AI is making a huge impact is in the field of healthcare. AI technology is being used to analyze medical data and assist doctors in diagnosing and treating patients. AI algorithms are able to process vast amounts of data much faster than a human doctor, leading to quicker and more accurate diagnoses. AI is also being used to develop new drugs and treatments, with researchers using machine learning algorithms to identify potential drug candidates and predict their effectiveness.

AI is also being used in the field of transportation, with self-driving cars becoming increasingly common. These cars use AI algorithms to navigate roads and make decisions in real-time, leading to safer and more efficient transportation. AI is also being used in logistics and supply chain management, with companies using AI algorithms to optimize routes, reduce costs, and improve delivery times.

In the world of finance, AI is being used to detect fraud, predict market trends, and automate trading. AI algorithms are able to analyze vast amounts of financial data and make predictions about future market movements, helping investors make informed decisions. AI is also being used in customer service, with chatbots and virtual assistants being used to provide personalized support to customers.

Overall, AI technology is revolutionizing industries across the board, from healthcare and finance to transportation and customer service. As AI continues to develop and improve, we can expect to see even more exciting advancements in the future. The possibilities are endless, and the potential for AI to improve our lives and make the world a better place is truly limitless.
