The discovery of a burned body in Mangaung
Authorities are currently investigating a murder case after the charred remains of an unidentified male were found in the bushes in the Free State. The distressing discovery was made by a shepherd in Mangaung, Phase 6, near Dewetsdorp Road early on Tuesday morning.
The victim’s identity remains a mystery
Upon arrival at the scene, police found the smouldering body of a man believed to be around 35 years old. The victim was dressed in blue jeans and black takkies, with no form of identification found nearby. The motive behind the killing and the events leading up to the incident are currently under investigation, with authorities urging the public to come forward with any information that could help identify the deceased.

A search for a suspect in the murder of a Johannesburg woman
In a separate case, Gauteng police are on the hunt for an individual using the alias ‘John’, who is believed to be connected to the murder of a 30-year-old woman in Johannesburg. Olorato Mongale was last seen on a date with her alleged killer, who picked her up from her residential complex in a white VW Polo with cloned number plates linked to a Toyota Hilux.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the vehicle was equipped with counterfeit registration plates. Some of Mongale’s personal belongings, including her phone and handbag, were found on 9th Road in Kew, Johannesburg. Her body was later located in Lombardy West with the help of community members.
The police are urging anyone with information about either case to come forward and assist in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
