Flutterwave, Africa’s leading payments technology company, has once again solidified its position as a top player in the cross-border payments industry. For the second consecutive year, Flutterwave has been ranked in the prestigious Top 100 Companies list by FXC Intelligence, a renowned market map that recognizes the most influential players in the cross-border payments space.

The acknowledgment by FXC Intelligence places Flutterwave alongside global giants such as Paypal, Google, and Shopify, highlighting the company’s commitment to excellence and innovation. Yewande Akomolafe-Kalu, Associate Vice President of Branding and Storytelling at Flutterwave, expressed pride in the recognition, emphasizing the company’s dedication to connecting Africa to the world and vice versa.

Flutterwave’s flagship product, Send App, embodies its mission of facilitating seamless payments between Africa and the rest of the world. Recognizing the importance of remittances for Africans, Flutterwave has made significant strides in enabling cross-border transactions for essential needs like education and healthcare.

In 2024, Flutterwave witnessed a surge in its cross-border capabilities, with nearly half of businesses on its platform receiving payments from new geographical locations. This growth spanned various sectors including remittance, hospitality, and travel, underscoring Flutterwave’s role in powering seamless cross-border transactions globally.

To enhance its cross-border solutions, Flutterwave acquired a remittance license in Ghana, expanding its reach and streamlining payment processing for Ghanaians. The company’s technological advancements have resulted in processing over 98% of cross-border transactions in under five minutes, enhancing efficiency and user experience.

Beyond its core payment services, Flutterwave has actively contributed to Africa’s fintech ecosystem through strategic partnerships and expansion efforts. Operating in over 60% of African countries, Flutterwave has collaborated with industry giants like AMEX and introduced innovative payment options like Pay With Bank Transfer for Ghanaian businesses.

The recognition by FXC Intelligence adds to a series of prestigious awards received by Flutterwave, including Fast Company’s “Most Innovative Company for Europe, Middle East, and Africa” in 2024 and the Financial Services Infrastructure Innovation Award at the International Financial Inclusion Conference. These accolades underscore Flutterwave’s commitment to driving financial inclusion and innovation in the payments industry.

Inclusion in the FXC Top 100 list reaffirms Flutterwave’s success and dedication to providing reliable payment infrastructure for enterprise businesses to thrive in Africa and beyond. As Flutterwave continues to lead the way in cross-border payments, the company remains steadfast in its mission to build a better Africa and connect the continent to the global economy.
