President Trump: Florida Man Arrested for Facebook Threats to Kill The Donald

Published on April 7, 2025 at 6:50 AM PDT

A Florida man, identified as Glenn DeCicco, 73, was arrested last week for making threats on Facebook to fatally shoot President Trump. The incident took place in Jupiter, FL, where DeCicco resides. After being apprehended by the police, DeCicco posed for a mug shot, appearing like an older surfer dude with a 5 o’clock shadow.

In the booking photo, DeCicco is seen sporting sandy hair and stubble on his face, giving off the impression of an average beach-lover. It is hard to believe that he would be the individual behind such alarming assassination threats on social media.

According to reports, DeCicco allegedly posted messages on Facebook saying, “Ass-ass-inate!” and “Winning strategy: buy QQQ today, sell SQQQ today; shoot Trump tomorrow.” Concerned citizens alerted the authorities about these threatening posts, leading to a visit to DeCicco’s residence.

During the police interaction, DeCicco appeared agitated when discussing his political views. When questioned about the posts, he simply stated, “It was a thought that I had.” Subsequently, Secret Service agents were notified, and DeCicco was taken into custody and charged with written threats to kill or do bodily harm.

At his initial court appearance, DeCicco was ordered to be held without bond and was instructed to stay away from President Trump. This incident sheds light on the importance of monitoring online behavior and taking threats seriously, especially those directed towards public figures like the President.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time threats have been made against President Trump. In the past, there have been two attempts on his life, one of which occurred during a 2024 campaign stop in Butler, Pennsylvania. In that incident, Trump’s ear was grazed by a bullet while giving a speech, and the suspect, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was shot dead by a Secret Service agent.

This case serves as a reminder of the need for vigilance and swift action in addressing threats to the safety and security of public officials. Such incidents highlight the importance of law enforcement agencies and the Secret Service in ensuring the protection of our leaders.
