A father and son duo from Charleston, Rhode Island, tragically lost their lives after a failed bank robbery in Connecticut. Shaun Fallon, 56, and his 27-year-old son Zachary Fallon, donning medical masks, threatened a teller at the Chelsea Groton Bank in Groton and made off with an undisclosed sum of money.
After a six-hour standoff with police at a nearby Super 8 Motel, the father and son were found with gunshot wounds. The pair claimed to be armed with firearms and explosives, refusing to surrender to authorities. Two gunshots were heard inside their hotel room during the standoff, leading to the discovery that both suspects had sustained gunshot wounds.
Despite the initial threat of explosives, no such devices were found in the room. The Fallon duo was rushed to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where Zachary Fallon succumbed to his injuries. Shaun Fallon fought for his life for several days before ultimately passing away on Monday.
