Damson Idris Rumored to Play T’Challa’s Son in Upcoming Black Panther Film

After his success in the F1 film, Damson Idris has sparked rumors of being cast in the highly anticipated third installment of the Black Panther franchise. During a recent appearance on the US TV talk show Today, Idris hinted at discussions about a potential role in the film.

When asked directly if he had been in talks to play the next Black Panther, Idris playfully responded with a “yes, no” before suggesting that the answer could be interpreted in different ways. At 33, the British actor is no stranger to leading roles and has the talent to take on a significant character like T’Challa’s son, Toussaint.

In the previous film, we catch a glimpse of Toussaint in the final scene of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, as Nakia introduces him to his aunt, Shuri. With the third film rumored for a 2028 release, fans are eager to see how the story unfolds.

Meanwhile, the F1 film has been a massive success at the box office, grossing over R2 billion worldwide and nearly R1 billion in the US. The film, which blends high-octane racing with human-centered storytelling, has resonated with audiences globally.

In F1, Idris portrays Joshua Pearce, a talented but arrogant racer leading a struggling Formula 1 team. When veteran driver Sonny Hayes, played by Brad Pitt, joins the team, tensions rise between the two drivers. As the story unfolds, they discover they have more in common than they realized.

Idris has described the film as heartwarming and relatable, drawing parallels to real-life experiences. With his impressive performance in F1, fans are excited to see what he brings to the table in the upcoming Black Panther film.
