Elon Musk has come out swinging against the “Saturday Night Live” cast after a recent impersonation of him by Dana Carvey. Musk, who is known for his outspoken nature, didn’t find the sketch funny and called out the cast for being sore losers.
During the ‘SNL’ cold open, cast members jokingly pledged their undying allegiance to Donald Trump, claiming they had always supported him and there was no need for him to retaliate against them. The bit took a turn when Kenan Thompson made a joke about bailing on Earth and going to Mars with Elon Musk, which is when Carvey appeared on stage dressed as the Tesla billionaire.
Carvey’s impersonation included jokes about SpaceX rockets exploding and some wacky dance moves before exiting the stage. Musk found humor in the performers’ saltiness about the election results, particularly their frustration over Trump winning a second term.
As a vocal supporter of Trump, Musk has regularly campaigned for the 45th and soon-to-be 47th President of the United States. It remains to be seen what role Musk may play in the upcoming administration, with Trump hinting at appointing him as the “Secretary of Cost-Cutting” to streamline government bureaucracy.
With Musk’s close ties to Trump, it’s likely that we’ll see more impersonations of him on ‘SNL’ in the future, along with more criticism from Musk himself. Stay tuned for the next four years of political satire and Musk’s reactions to it.
