The Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation in Egypt, under the leadership of H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, has taken significant steps towards enhancing government performance and promoting digital transformation. A recent event saw the launch of the E-Voting System and the Complaints and Performance Monitoring Program at the Administrative Prosecution Authority, in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
The event, attended by key officials including Justice Minister Adnan Fangary and Youth and Sports Minister Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, showcased the successful collaboration between the Ministry and the Administrative Prosecution Authority. This cooperation, established through a protocol signed in 2022 and witnessed by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, aims to modernize information systems and develop the election process through the integration of the latest IT technologies.
Dr. Rania Al-Mashat highlighted the importance of this cooperation in achieving comprehensive and sustainable development, improving citizen’s quality of life, and enhancing government performance. The projects launched, including the “Enhancing Government Performance” initiative, focus on assessing and measuring government performance, supporting decision-makers, and providing support mechanisms for members of the Administrative Prosecution Authority.
Aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030, these projects aim to ensure transparency, participation, responsiveness to citizen needs, and the use of modern methods in public services. They also contribute to combating corruption through the National Anti-Corruption Strategy, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal on peace, justice, and strong institutions.
The outputs of these projects include developing a complaints and performance measurement system, enabling citizens to submit complaints via mobile applications, and enhancing the citizens’ experience with government services. Moreover, the E-Voting project aims to transition all paper-based elections to electronic elections, ensuring ease, accuracy, and transparency in the voting process.
Implemented successfully in various elections across the country, the E-Voting system not only enhances transparency but also reduces costs and offers a more convenient experience for voters. The Ministry remains committed to continuing this cooperation to achieve comprehensive and sustainable economic and social development, emphasizing the importance of partnership and collaboration between institutions.
In recognition of the Ministry’s role in supporting digital transformation and IT projects at the Administrative Prosecution Authority, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat was presented with a commemorative shield. This event marks a significant milestone in Egypt’s journey towards digital transformation and improved government performance, showcasing the country’s commitment to progress and innovation.
