The upcoming District Level elections and by-elections in Nkoranza North and Nkoranza South have sparked excitement and anticipation among candidates and voters alike. The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced its plans to facilitate the campaign process by setting up campaign platforms for the candidates.

The EC revealed that the elections are slated for Tuesday, May 13, 2025, with the platform mounting exercise scheduled to take place from Friday, May 9 to Sunday, May 11, 2025. One platform will be established in every electoral area and unit where elections are being held to provide candidates with a fair and open space to present their manifestos, interact with the electorate, and address questions from community members.

The primary goal of this initiative is to allow voters to assess the suitability of each candidate and make informed decisions on Election Day. By giving candidates the opportunity to engage directly with the electorate, the EC aims to promote transparency and accountability in the electoral process.

In addition to facilitating the campaign process, the EC has issued a stern warning to candidates and their supporters to conduct their campaigns peacefully. Threats, force, or intimidation aimed at influencing voters are considered election offences and will not be tolerated. The Commission is committed to upholding the integrity of the electoral process and ensuring that all candidates adhere to the rules and regulations governing elections.

As the campaign period heats up, candidates are encouraged to focus on presenting their platforms and engaging with voters in a respectful and constructive manner. By fostering a peaceful and inclusive campaign environment, the EC hopes to enhance public trust in the electoral system and promote democratic values in the local communities.
