The head coach of the Black Galaxies of Ghana, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, has emphasized that his team’s main focus is on their upcoming match against Nigeria rather than getting caught up in the historical rivalry between the two nations. Dramani believes that it is crucial for his players to be mentally prepared to handle the pressure of facing their long-standing rivals.

“We place our emphasis on the team itself rather than getting distracted by the rivalry. While we acknowledge the significance of the history between the two nations, our main priority lies in our technical, tactical, and psychological preparation,” Dramani explained in an interview with CAFonline.

He further stressed the importance of his players channeling the pressure of the match in a positive manner, highlighting the significance of collective performance over individual efforts on the field.

In terms of strategy, Dramani revealed that they have been focusing on establishing clear playing values such as being goal-oriented, aggressive, and proficient in both attack and defense. The team has been working on controlling spaces on the field and maintaining composure under pressure. Training sessions have been specifically designed to mirror the intensity of real-game situations to ensure the players are well-prepared.

Furthermore, the coaching staff has been meticulously studying Nigeria’s style of play and incorporating tactical adjustments while staying true to their own strengths as a team. The Black Galaxies are determined to give their best performance in the upcoming matches against Nigeria.

The first leg of the encounter will be held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, with the second leg scheduled to take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo the following Saturday.
