Marquez Makes History with 100th Pole Position at Italian MotoGP

On Saturday, Marc Marquez made history once again by claiming pole position for the Italian MotoGP at Mugello. This marks his sixth pole position of the season and a milestone 100th pole position across all Grand Prix classes.

The six-time world champion set a blistering lap time of one minute and 44.169 seconds, edging out his Ducati teammate Francesco Bagnaia by 0.059 seconds. Bagnaia, who has been dominant at Mugello with three consecutive wins, is currently 93 points behind Marquez in the championship standings.

With this pole position, Marquez is in a prime position to extend his lead in the championship standings over his brother Alex Marquez. The sprint race, scheduled for Saturday afternoon, offers Marquez the opportunity to further solidify his position at the top of the standings.

So far this season, Marquez has been in top form, winning five out of the eight sprint races and four Grand Prix events. His consistency and speed have made him a formidable force on the track.

Alex Marquez, riding for KTM, will start from the front row alongside Marquez and Bagnaia after posting a time 0.83 seconds off the pace.

As Marquez continues to rewrite the record books and dominate the MotoGP circuit, fans can expect more thrilling performances and historic achievements from the Spanish motorcycling legend.
