Dineo Ranaka on her abusive ex-husband

Renowned radio and TV personality Dineo Ranaka recently shared intimate details about her decision to end her first marriage, which lasted only three months.

During a conversation on L-Tido’s podcast, Dineo bravely spoke about the abuse and betrayal she endured in her toxic relationship, leading to her eventual departure.

“He physically assaulted me… We can face many challenges in a relationship, but violence should never be one of them,” she revealed.

Dineo disclosed that her ex-husband not only subjected her to physical abuse but also engaged in multiple acts of infidelity.

“And then there was the rampant cheating. While forgiveness is possible for certain transgressions, there are boundaries that should never be crossed,” she explained.

“There are levels of cheating that are unforgivable, like discovering a multitude of indiscretions. That’s when it’s time to walk away. I’m not attacking anyone’s character; I’m simply sharing my experience,” Dineo added.

She clarified that while she doesn’t identify as a feminist, there are certain behaviors that women should never tolerate in relationships.

“A woman should only submit to a man who respects and honors her, not someone who strays from the path of righteousness,” she emphasized.

Efforts to Salvage the Relationship

Despite the challenges, Dineo revealed that she made concerted efforts to salvage her marriage by engaging in open dialogue with her partner before ultimately deciding to end the relationship.

“I believe in communication and growth. Even in the face of adversity, I always strive to understand and support my partner,” she shared.

In a previous interview on Podcast and Chill with MacG, Dineo expressed that had it not been for the abuse, her marriage might have endured.

“If he hadn’t resorted to violence during our marriage, we might have still been together. The moment he laid a hand on me with our three-month-old baby present, I knew it was time to walk away. I refuse to tolerate such behavior,” she declared.
