Nigerian Music Superstar Davido Pledges ₦300 Million to Orphanages on His 32nd Birthday

Celebrated Nigerian artist Davido has made a remarkable commitment on his 32nd birthday by pledging to donate ₦300 million to orphanages in Nigeria through his foundation. The philanthropic gesture was announced by the artist himself on his official X account, where he shared his plans to support vulnerable children in the country.

Davido, who established the Davido Adeleke Foundation in 2022 with the collaboration of other charitable organizations, is dedicated to providing assistance to orphanages and combating drug abuse among young individuals. His latest donation of ₦300 million is a testament to his ongoing commitment to making a positive impact on society.

Back in July 2023, Davido revealed that his foundation had already contributed over ₦200 million to orphanages across the nation, benefiting a total of 13,818 children. This significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children inspired him to allocate additional funding for the cause in 2024.

The artist’s philanthropic journey began in 2021 when he received an overwhelming response from the public after sharing his bank account details on his social media platform. The generous donations he received, totaling over ₦200 million, prompted him to pledge the entire sum to orphanages in Nigeria, with an additional ₦50 million being distributed to support the cause.
