A recent burglary in Staten Island has left residents shocked and authorities on the hunt for a valuable stolen painting. The incident occurred on Tottenville Place near Wards Point Avenue, where a thief broke into a home and made off with a painting worth $500,000. The painting, titled “City Gleaners” by renowned artist T.F. Chen, was the target of the burglary.

T.F. Chen, known not only for his artwork but also as an art historian, writer, and philosopher, has a prestigious reputation in the art world. He is the founder of the T. F. Chen Cultural Center in NYC and has showcased his work in over 100 one-man exhibitions worldwide. The stolen painting holds significant value both monetarily and artistically.

The burglary took place when no one was home, including the 68-year-old owner of the painting. The thief gained entry by breaking a window and swiftly took the valuable artwork before making a getaway. The boldness and precision of the crime have left authorities searching for leads to apprehend the culprit.

Anyone with information regarding the burglary or the whereabouts of the stolen painting is urged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish speakers. Tips can also be submitted online through the CrimeStoppers website. The public’s assistance is crucial in solving this case and recovering the stolen artwork.

The community is on high alert following this daring burglary, emphasizing the importance of vigilance and security measures to protect valuable possessions. The stolen painting serves as a reminder of the vulnerability of homes to intruders and the need for heightened awareness. Authorities are working diligently to track down the thief and ensure justice is served in this case.
