Residents of Muhlava Cross Village near Nkowankowa in Tzaneen, Limpopo, are reeling from the horrific murder of a woman that has left the community in shock. The woman, identified as Elizabeth Gana, was found dead in her burnt house with one of her legs severed. The brutal nature of the crime has sparked fear and concern among residents, who are now calling for swift action from the police.

Elizabeth Gana, a 58-year-old woman, was living with her brother in the same yard at the time of her tragic death. Her charred body was discovered inside her torched house, and her remains have been sent to the mortuary for DNA testing. Community members described Gana as a kind and peaceful person, making her senseless killing even more difficult to comprehend.

Community leader Elizabeth Shingange expressed outrage over the lack of progress in the investigation, calling for justice to be served. She emphasized the need for the police to act swiftly and apprehend the perpetrators responsible for Gana’s brutal murder. The community is shaken by the heinous crime and is on edge, fearing for their safety in the wake of such violence.

Another community member, Themba Mhlongo, highlighted the alarming trend of violence against women in the Nkowankowa area. He urged the community to unite and collaborate with law enforcement agencies to combat crime and ensure the safety of residents. Mhlongo called on the police to intensify their efforts and bring the culprits to justice to prevent further tragedies from occurring.

In a separate incident, Limpopo police are investigating another burnt body found in the Eisleben, Makgatho sports grounds in Morebeng near Louis Trichardt. The unidentified body, severely burned beyond recognition, was discovered at the scene, raising suspicions of a possible murder. The motive behind the brutal attack remains unknown, with the police not ruling out the possibility of mob justice or related incidents.

As investigations continue into these gruesome crimes, the community remains on edge, calling for justice and accountability for the victims. The need for increased vigilance and cooperation between the community and law enforcement is crucial in combating crime and ensuring the safety and security of residents in the area.
