Donald Trump Invites Tech Titans and Foreign Leaders to Inauguration Ceremony
Donald Trump has extended invitations to a diverse group of attendees for his upcoming inauguration ceremony. Alongside his cabinet nominees, the former president has invited tech titans such as Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg. Shou Chew, the head of Chinese social media giant TikTok, is also set to attend, as reported by US media outlets.
Trump’s outreach to the tech moguls signifies his interest in fostering closer ties with the industry. During his campaign, Trump’s team leveraged social media platforms like TikTok, Musk’s X, and Zuckerberg’s Facebook and Instagram to disseminate information and reach a broader audience.
Despite past tensions, outgoing president Joe Biden has confirmed his attendance at the ceremony. Notably, all living former presidents – Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama – will be present, along with their spouses. However, Michelle Obama will not be in attendance.
While heads of state are typically not invited to US presidential inaugurations, Trump has extended invitations to select foreign leaders who align with his political ideology. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, known for her far-right views, will be in attendance. Additionally, invitations were sent to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Argentine President Javier Milei, and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Vice President Han Zheng will represent Xi Jinping at the event, meeting with transition office officials ahead of the ceremony.
The diverse guest list at Trump’s inauguration reflects his efforts to bridge connections with both domestic and international leaders, setting the stage for a momentous and globally significant event.
