The Ghanaian national women’s football team, known as the Black Queens, concluded their final training session in preparation for their upcoming friendly match against Côte d’Ivoire. The team is currently in Abidjan for a training camp where they are scheduled to play two friendly games against Les Elephants.

This training camp is a crucial part of the team’s preparations for the upcoming 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which will be held in Morocco. The Black Queens are eager to showcase their skills and talent on the continental stage and are leaving no stone unturned in their preparations.

The friendly match against Côte d’Ivoire will be a significant test for the Black Queens, as it will be the fourth game since Kim Lars Bjorkegren took over as the head coach of the team, following the departure of Nora Hauptle. Bjorkegren expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance during the training session, praising their intensity and commitment.

“It was a good exercise, and I liked the intensity and commitment everyone exhibited today. We arrived yesterday, and this is only our first training session, but I’m impressed,” said Bjorkegren.

The game against Côte d’Ivoire is scheduled to kick off at 19:00 GMT, and the Black Queens are determined to put on a strong performance and secure a positive result. The team’s players, such as Sherifatu Sumaila and Louisa Aniwaa, are ready to showcase their skills on the pitch and make their country proud.

Overall, the Black Queens are focused and determined to make a mark in the upcoming WAFCON tournament. With the guidance of coach Bjorkegren and the talent of the players, the team is poised for success in Morocco. Ghanaian football fans are eagerly anticipating the team’s performance and are hopeful for a strong showing in the tournament.
