Edward Coristine, also known as “Big Balls” online, has officially resigned from his position within the U.S. government. A White House official confirmed that the 19-year-old made the decision to step down from his role in the Department of Government Efficiency on Monday.
The Department of Government Efficiency, previously led by tech mogul Elon Musk, was responsible for reducing federal spending and eliminating jobs. Musk, who recently made headlines as the world’s wealthiest individual, left his position last month and publicly criticized President Donald Trump’s proposed spending bill.
Coristine’s appointment to the Department earlier this year caused some controversy due to his young age, lack of experience, and unconventional nickname. Prior to joining the Department of Government Efficiency, he had interned at Musk’s innovative venture, Neuralink.
Using the moniker “Big Balls” on social media platforms, Coristine explained in a recent Fox News interview his reasoning behind the nickname. He expressed his desire to break away from the traditional norms of professionalism found on platforms like LinkedIn.
Despite his departure, Coristine has yet to make any public statements regarding his resignation from the government. The circumstances surrounding his exit remain unclear.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Edward Coristine, also known as “Big Balls,” and how his brief stint in the U.S. government will impact his career moving forward.
