An Aurora West College Preparatory Academy soccer coach has been arrested on suspicion of child sex assault, according to the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. Ulrich Dahm, 67, is facing charges of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust as part of a pattern of abuse, a felony offense. The details of the case are currently sealed to protect the privacy of the victim.
The alleged assault took place between September 6 and February 7 while Dahm was working as a soccer coach at the school. In a letter addressed to parents and staff, Principal Ryan Adams confirmed that the victim is a former student and that Dahm is no longer employed by the school or the district. Dahm joined Aurora Public Schools in 2018, and at the time of his hiring, there were no indications of prior inappropriate behavior or criminal activity.
Adams did not disclose the exact circumstances of Dahm’s departure from the school, nor did he specify whether Dahm resigned or was terminated. In response to the allegations, Adams emphasized his commitment to supporting the Aurora West College Preparatory Academy community during this challenging time.
Currently, Dahm is being held without bond at the Adams County Detention Facility. His next court date has not been made public at this time. The investigation into the case is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information relevant to the case to come forward.
