Applications Now Open: Apply For The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation High School Scholarship

The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation, a member of the Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropies, is excited to announce the opening of applications for its annual High School Scholarship Programme. This prestigious scholarship is aimed at Grade 6 learners from all corners of South Africa, encouraging them to apply and unlock their entrepreneurial potential.

The High School Scholarship Programme is specifically designed to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit in young minds, fostering confident scholars who possess entrepreneurial thinking, leadership qualities, and a determination to address the most critical social and economic challenges facing South Africa.

To be considered for this scholarship, Grade 6 learners must showcase a genuine interest in entrepreneurship and a strong desire to pursue it as a career path. Successful recipients will receive financial support to attend a reputable partner high school, along with comprehensive guidance and resources to develop their entrepreneurial skills and capabilities.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are seeking Grade 6 learners who:

– Demonstrate academic excellence and leadership potential
– Display entrepreneurial thinking
– Come from financially disadvantaged backgrounds

Scholarship Application Criteria:

– Applicants must be in Grade 6 in 2025
– Applicants must be between 11 and 12 years of age (born in 2013 and 2014)
– Applicants must achieve a minimum 70% average in English and Mathematics in Grade 5 and 6
– Applicants must be South African citizens
– Applicants must show financial need (household income not exceeding R20,000 per month)

What the Allan Gray Scholarship Offers:

– Annual entrepreneurial conference
– Regional Entrepreneurial Experience sessions
– Workshops, speaker events, and seminars
– Online learning campus
– Programme Officer for mentorship
– Tuition, boarding, uniform, stationery, textbooks, toiletries, and casual clothing
– Monthly allowance
– Support for extracurricular activities
