The Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG) has recently announced the return of the Gong Gong Awards, now rebranded as the Gong Gong Festival of Creativity & Awards. This prestigious event is a celebration of excellence in advertising, branding, and creative communications in Ghana.

After a two-year hiatus, the awards ceremony is making a comeback, revamped to align with the evolving landscape of the advertising industry globally. The event is scheduled to take place from Monday, April 28 to Saturday, May 3, 2025. The highlight of the festival will be the 17th Gong Gong Awards Night on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

The theme for this year’s festival is “Disrupt & Inspire: Recognizing Brands and Agencies that Challenge Norms and Redefine Creativity.” The event aims to honor outstanding creativity and innovation within Ghana’s advertising industry.

President of the AAG, Andrew Ackah, shared that the Gong Gong Festival of Creativity will feature a week-long lineup of activities. These include a Brand and Creativity Exhibition at the Accra Mall, where both industry professionals and consumers can experience cutting-edge advertising and branding excellence. Additionally, the festival will host panel discussions, masterclasses, and networking sessions to promote collaboration and innovation in the advertising sector.

The Gong Gong Awards, a longstanding tradition in Ghana’s advertising industry, will now feature 17 award categories recognizing creative agencies and companies with exceptional brands. Each award category will have multiple awards to compete for, honoring the most impactful advertising campaigns and creative works from 2023 and 2024.

The refreshed Gong Gong Festival of Creativity & Awards serves as a platform to disrupt the status quo and inspire the next generation of creatives. As Ghana’s premier advertising industry celebration, the festival aims to showcase groundbreaking ideas, celebrate innovation, and acknowledge brands and agencies that push the boundaries of creativity.
