The recent attack on the Saudi hospital in El Fasher, western Sudan, has sparked outrage from the United Arab Emirates. The incident resulted in tragic loss of life and injuries to innocent civilians, a clear violation of international humanitarian law.

Sheikh Shakhboot Bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, has strongly condemned the attack and called for a peaceful resolution to the conflict. He emphasized the importance of an immediate ceasefire and the protection of civilians and civilian institutions, including medical facilities and health workers. Sheikh Shakhboot also highlighted the need for all parties to uphold their legal and humanitarian obligations under the Jeddah Declaration and ALPS Group mechanisms.

It is crucial that immediate action is taken to safeguard civilians and prevent further deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Sudan. Collective efforts are essential to achieve peace and stability in the region.

Sheikh Shakhboot extended his heartfelt condolences to the people of Sudan and the families of the victims. He also wished a speedy recovery to all those injured in the attack.

The United Arab Emirates stands in solidarity with Sudan during this difficult time and remains committed to supporting efforts for peace and security in the region.
