Ford Motor Company recently announced a series of recalls affecting approximately 400,000 vehicles, as reported in filings with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on December 20.
The impacted vehicles include a range of trucks and heavy-duty vehicles, with a total of 295,449 units being recalled due to concerns about biodiesel deposits forming on the pump drivetrain roller components. This issue could potentially lead to the failure of the high-pressure fuel pump, increasing the risk of a crash. The affected models include certain 2020-2022 F-Super Duty F250, F350, F450, F550, and F600 trucks, as well as F-650 and F750 vehicles from the 2021-2022 model years.
In the SUV category, Ford is recalling over 20,000 hybrid electric Ford Escapes spanning the 2020 to 2024 model years, along with 4,000 Lincoln Corsairs from 2021 to 2024. The concern here is related to the high-voltage batteries potentially short-circuiting.
Additionally, Ford has issued a recall for 30,317 Ford Flex vehicles due to issues with the analog rearview cameras, which could result in distorted or blank images, affecting the driver’s view and potentially leading to accidents. Another recall involves nearly 48,000 Lincoln Nautilus SUVs from the 2024-2025 model years, focusing on problems with the automatic window reverse systems that may not function correctly, posing a risk of pinching individuals before the window retracts.
In the car segment, Ford has recalled more than 12,000 Ford Fiestas and 802 Lincoln MKTs from the 2019 model year for the same rearview camera concerns.
Owners of the affected vehicles will receive notifications by mail and can contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332 for any questions or guidance regarding repairs.
These recalls highlight Ford’s commitment to addressing potential safety issues and ensuring the well-being of its customers. It is essential for vehicle owners to stay informed about recalls and take necessary steps to address any identified problems promptly.
