The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) recently held their National People’s Assembly, and it was a red-letter day for the party as Julius Malema was confirmed as the leader. The assembly also saw the emergence of former secretary general Godrich Gardee as the likely candidate for the position of deputy president.

The event, which took place amidst much anticipation and excitement, showcased the party’s commitment to democratic processes and leadership transitions. Malema’s re-election as leader signals a continued focus on radical policies and a no-nonsense approach to addressing social and economic issues in South Africa.

The assembly was a platform for key party members such as Floyd Shivambu, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, and others to reaffirm their commitment to the party’s core values and principles. Discussions around the upcoming 2026 Elections were a key focus, with the party strategizing on how to further solidify their presence and impact in the political landscape.

The leadership transition within the EFF is seen as a positive step towards ensuring continuity and stability within the party. Gardee’s potential election as deputy president is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the party’s leadership structure and ensure a seamless transition of power.

The assembly also highlighted the EFF’s unwavering commitment to independent journalism and providing in-depth news coverage to its readers. The party emphasized the importance of supporting quality journalism and ensuring access to premium articles and features for its subscribers.

Overall, the National People’s Assembly was a significant event for the EFF, showcasing the party’s dedication to democratic processes, leadership renewal, and a continued focus on their core values and principles. As the party gears up for the 2026 Elections, all eyes will be on the EFF to see how they continue to shape the political landscape in South Africa.
